Not reading all those words, but the problems I can see with this are severalfold:

1. Right-wingers have successfully created false controversy over whether or not the New Deal actually helped, nevermind that it created the infrastructure that provided for 20th century American expansion.

2. Obama is facing a debt far too large to actually finance such an undertaking. He'd have to cut military spending, and seeing as how the best he can do is decrease the increase in spending a little bit...

3. Even if the American government does lose the "consent of the governed" (A wobbly and vague phrase, since such consent is largely unquantifiable) the post-industrial citizen lacks the tools to meaningfully engage in dissent, let alone genuine resistance towards the government.

4. Post-Reagan America will never ditch its entitlement complex. In a hundred years, when the US is sucking yellow dick, Americans will be bitter backwards nationalists like in the Balkan states, clinging to a mythologized America and culture heroes like Reagan, never having learned its lesson about wealth at no cost.

Basically we're all screwed hooz. Sorry.
